Delete your Yumzi account
This page is for Yumzi: Recipe Saver & Planner, the Yumzi app on the App Store and on Google Play, and yumzi.food. Yumzi is made by Fair Comparisons, Rotterdam, the Netherlands (KvK 42031267).
Delete it in the app
- Open Yumzi and sign in.
- Tap the person icon at the top right to open Settings.
- In the Account section, tap Delete account.
- Tap Yes, delete it.
That is the whole process. It works the same on iPhone and Android. There is no undo.
Delete it without the app
Go to yumzi.food, sign in with your email, open Settings with the person icon, and choose Delete account.
If you cannot sign in, email hello@yumzi.food from the address on your account and write "Delete my account". We answer a deletion request within one month.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in, so you can no longer log in.
- Your member profile, with your name and email on it.
- If you are the last person in your household: the household itself, with its saved recipes and the photos kept with them and the photos of your dishes, notes, collections, week plans, votes, cooking history, shopping lists, device tokens for notifications, share links, the log of emails we sent you, and the usage records tied to the household.
- Your place on any waiting list under the same email.
- If you signed in with Apple, we ask Apple to end that link.
If other people are still in your household, only your own profile and sign-in are deleted. They keep the recipes.
What we keep, and for how long
- Usage records that belong to no household, such as the steps of signing in. They can carry your account id or a one-way fingerprint of your email address, and they are not linked to your recipes. They have no fixed deletion date yet.
- We keep a record that you asked not to receive reminders or marketing emails, so we never send you those again. Sign-in codes you request yourself still arrive.
- If you took part in Creator Partnerships: the financial records of your payouts, meaning earnings, payments, receipts, and the accepted terms and rates they were calculated under. We remove your partner profile and its link to your household. We keep those financial records for seven years from the end of the financial year they belong to, because Dutch tax law requires it.
- Error reports in Sentry, our error monitoring provider. They carry a scrambled code for your household, and no email or recipes.
- Backups are overwritten on our database provider's schedule.
- Shared recipe data that holds no personal information, such as the structured version of a public recipe.
We keep these to stay secure, to prevent abuse, to pay creators correctly and to meet a legal duty. We do not use them for advertising.
