The deal between us,
in plain words.
Who you are dealing with
Yumzi is run by Fair Comparisons, registered in the Netherlands under KvK number 42031267. These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the rights Dutch and EU consumer law already give you.
What Yumzi does
You send us a cooking video or a recipe link. We read the recipe out of it, including when the recipe is only spoken or shown on screen, and turn it into a written recipe you can cook from. You can plan a week, get one grocery list, and send that list to your Albert Heijn basket.
What Yumzi does not do
We do not invent recipes. If we cannot read a recipe reliably, we say so instead of filling in the gaps. That is a product commitment we hold ourselves to, and it is not a guarantee that every extraction is perfect. Reading a video is hard, creators are sometimes vague, and you should use your own judgement in the kitchen, especially with cooking times, temperatures and anything involving raw meat, fish or eggs. Check the original video if something looks wrong. We link to it on every recipe for exactly that reason.
Allergies and diets
Our dietary filtering is a helper, not a medical safeguard. Ingredient lists come from what a creator said in a video, so they can be incomplete. If you or someone you cook for has an allergy, read the original recipe and the actual product packaging. Do not rely on Yumzi alone for that.
Your account and your household
You need an account to use Yumzi, and you must be at least 16. A household can be shared with the people you live with. Anyone in your household can see and edit the recipes, plan and list in it, so only invite people you actually want to share with. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
The recipes you bring
When you send us a video or a link, you are asking us to read something someone else made. You are responsible for having the right to do that, and for how you use what comes back. Do not use Yumzi to bulk collect someone's work, to strip a creator's credit, or to republish their recipes as your own. We show the creator and link back to the original on every recipe, and that attribution is not decoration. Leave it alone.
If you are a creator and you want something removed
Email hello@yumzi.food with a link to the original post and the Yumzi recipe or clip you want taken down. Tell us who you are and that you hold the rights, or act for whoever does. We will look at it and act promptly, and we will tell you what we did. If we take something down and you think we got it wrong, reply and we will look again. You can also complain to a court or an out of court dispute body. We do not need a lawyer to be involved for you to reach us.
Groceries and Albert Heijn
One tap sends your shopping list to your Albert Heijn basket. You review, confirm and pay at AH yourself. We are not a shop, we never see your Albert Heijn login, and we never check out for you. Prices, availability and substitutions are Albert Heijn's, not ours. Some links may carry an affiliate tag, which costs you nothing and is disclosed on the privacy page.
Paying, and not paying
The free tier is genuinely usable and we will not ask for a card to let you look around. If you subscribe, the price is shown before you pay, and you can cancel in one tap from your app store. We do not bill after you cancel. Where you buy through Apple or Google, their billing and refund rules apply on top of these terms. If we ever change what a paid plan includes, we will tell you before it takes effect, and a founding rate we promised to lock stays locked.
Your recipes are yours
Your saved recipes stay yours. If you want a copy of your data, one email to hello@yumzi.food and we send it. If you delete your account we delete your household's data where you are the last member of it. We will not wipe your recipes to force a migration. If we ever have to change how accounts work, you get warning and a way out with your data.
Fair use
Reading a video costs us real money each time, so heavy use has a ceiling rather than being unlimited. The ceiling is generous, it is shown in the app, and going past it means a top up rather than a wall. Everything that costs us nothing to serve, saving recipes, planning, lists, the Albert Heijn hand off, is not metered.
When we can close an account
If someone uses Yumzi to break the law, to harvest other people's work at scale, or to attack the service, we can suspend or close that account. We will tell you why, and you can reply.
What we are responsible for
We will run Yumzi with reasonable care, but we cannot promise it is never down or never wrong. To the extent Dutch law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing here limits our liability for death, personal injury, or anything else the law does not let us limit.
If you are in Creator Partnerships
Creators who join Creator Partnerships get a link and a code, and we pay them a share when someone they referred subscribes. The partnership terms at yumzi.food/creators/terms say exactly what we pay and how we count. Being referred changes nothing for you: same app, same price, same terms. Partners may not send you unsolicited messages to get you here; if one does, tell us.
Changes to these terms
If we change something that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and say what changed. Carrying on using Yumzi after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, you can export your data and close your account.
Questions and complaints
hello@yumzi.food. We answer. If we cannot sort it out between us, Dutch courts have jurisdiction, and as a consumer you can also use the EU online dispute resolution platform.
Questions, requests, complaints: hello@yumzi.food.
